Axéréal acquires Agri-Négoce

Axéréal and Ameropa announce that they signed an agreement on 18 December 2015 for Axéréal to acquire all shares held by Ameropa in Agri-Négoce and its subsidiaries.  This sale is subject to the usual suspensive conditions, mainly approval by the relevant antitrust authorities.    With all the new challenges facing agriculture, we must see strong grain groups emerge. This acquisition will give a boost to Axéréal’s grain business by strengthening its position for customers both at home and abroad. It will also lead to synergies, especially in terms of logistics, and will make the Group more competitive over a larger area from central to western France.

Agri-Négoce is a good, profitable company that is well run by Chairman Jean-Michel Le Bihan and his teams. With Agri-Négoce, Axéréal will expand its geographic network and access to the Atlantic coastal region and increase grain collection to 5.8 Mt.

Agri-Négoce is the No. 4 private grain trader in France, collecting of some 500,000 tonnes of grain a year. The company has three business lines: collection, supply and technical-economic consulting.  Operating in six départements (Sarthe, Mayenne, Maine-et-Loire, Indre-et-Loire, Loir-et-Cher and Orne) with 31 sites and 23 silos, Agri-Négoce has more than 6,000 agricultural customers, including 1,600 delivery people, and 150 employees.  Agri-Négoce generated consolidated turnover of €176 million in 2014-2015 and continues to report positive results.
