Main tasks
As Stores Operator in Mendlesham you will ensure the quality of barley received and stored at Mendlesham is maintained to Boortmalt’s standards and to ensure the Bury St Edmunds is supplied with the correct quality and quantity of barley from Mendlesham.
This is an important role, assisting keeping the barley store productive and maintained and supplying the maltings at Bury St Edmunds with barley of the required quality.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Barley intake testing and administration
Weighbridge administration and control
Barley quality control
Barley processing
Barley storage
Laboratory support and administration
Loader shovel driving
Barley out loading
Master we are looking for ?
Certificates for barley identification, pest identification, manual handling, food hygiene, loader shovel, confined space and working at height
Knowledge of barley storage and malting process requirements
Fluent English is essential.
You are a multiskilled person, someone who is enthusiastic, flexible and prepared to learn new skills.
It’s a very fast paced role which requires physical hard work at times, always attention to detail, as well as an interested understanding of what the site is aiming to achieve.
