Louis Gillet
Hello, my name’s Louis. I’m 22 years old and I'm a second-year student on a higher education apprenticeship studying for a diploma in Operational Sales Management at the ESG business school in Tours. I’ve been on my apprenticeship for just over a year, working with Ax’Vigne, an Axereal subsidiary that works with wine-growers. In this blog, I’ll be talking about my day-to-day work and the tasks involved – see you soon!
To work at Ax’Vigne you need to be versatile.
I’d like to use this second blog to tell you about my role at Ax’Vigne and the various tasks I’ve been given.
As a Vine Sales Advisor at the Noyers-sur-Cher store, I’m responsible for various different things that, together, make for a positive customer experience.
My main role is to welcome customers and guide them throughout their time in the store, giving them as much advice and information as I can.
I’m also responsible for keeping the store looking attractive and tidy, and topping up the stock.
I code the articles and prepare the orders, and deal with incoming stock and stock transfers, both physically and in the IT system.
Lastly, my colleague Thierry and I use a special machine to print our customers’ logos on their cases of bottles.
And alongside all that, I’m involved in the project to revamp the store.
Ax’Vigne and the Essence of the Grape Harvest
It’s now the middle of October and we’ve just reached the end of the grape harvest, a key time of year for our business.
It’s a crucial period for staff at Ax’Vigne, because we provide wine-growers with a heightened level of support during this season. The grape harvests mark the start of a cycle that defines the quality and character of each vintage.
As a one-stop supplier covering everything from vine planting to bottling, we are committed to supporting wine-growers at every phase of the growing process. We assist them from the earliest stages of the season, providing comprehensive solutions for soil preparation, grape variety selection and vineyard management.
As an apprentice in an Ax’Vigne store, I was particularly busy during the grape harvest period, guiding customers, preparing their orders and taking payments. This was the first time that I’d been involved in such a busy time. It made me realise how important it is to be responsive and attentive, to respond to customers’ requests as efficiently as possible.
