Axereal, the first agricultural and food cooperative group to obtain Top Employer certification

tr

This distinction acknowledges Axereal’s ongoing commitment to providing its staff with the best possible working environment through the roll-out of ambitious HR policies.

What is Top Employer certification?

Top Employer certification is awarded by the Top Employers Institute, an independent organisation that applies a rigorous assessment process.

Its assessment covers six key HR themes, split into 20 areas such as career management, working environment, recruitment, training and skills development, well-being at work, and diversity and inclusion.

What are the main lessons learned from the appraisal?

On its first participation in the Top Employer survey, Axereal achieved an overall score of 82.76%. This means that our HR processes meet over 80% of the certification criteria; the minimum required for certification is 60%.

“We’re delighted with this recognition, which reflects our staff’s efforts to make Axereal an attractive group with real opportunities for development. The Top Employers Institute certifies the measures taken to promote a positive workplace environment: flexibility, work-life balance, well-being at work, induction programme, digital HR, and skills development. For many years now, we have been committed to a process of continuous improvement, and we strive to offer job applicants and existing staff a working environment and assignments that are meaningful and consistent with our values, which echo the fundamentals of cooperation,” explains Quentin Paradowski, Talent Management Director at Axereal

The six key HR themes all obtained a score of over 60%. Among all Axereal’s HR practises, here are those that set it apart from the other companies audited by the Top Employers Institute:

  1. Change management and organisation of work: +12.20%,

  2. Well-being at work: +11.63%

  3. Employer brand: +11.25%

"This recognition is a source of great pride, because it is also the result of the investment made by our HR teams, our managers and the social dialogue with our representatives, who work hard on a daily basis to improve the performance of our various activities and to develop our human capital," explains Joan Vallet, HR and Communications Director for Agriculture and Processing Channels.

Why apply for this certification?

  • A benchmark and continuous improvement:

The certification process provides a clear and objective evaluation of all the company’s HR practises, measured against international standards. The detailed reports shared by the Top Employers Institute highlight both strengths and areas for progress, to guide the ongoing improvement of HR practises.

  • Attractivity & recruitment:

Axereal operates upstream in the food supply chain. Many people are familiar with Axereal’s clients, who operate on the BtoC market, in the beer or milling segments for example, but they don’t necessarily know Axereal. The group aims to build on this recognised label to raise its profile among prospective employees and communicate its career opportunities.

In addition, the label is an indicator of the quality of the company’s processes and working environment, making it particularly useful for applicants unfamiliar with the agricultural and food processing industries.

  • Employee loyalty:

The certification acknowledges the policies put in place to promote a positive workplace: factors such as flexibility, work-life balance, well-being at work and skills development are all certified by Top Employer and contribute to the fulfilment of Axereal employees.

Going through the certification process also helps strengthen employees’ sense of pride in working in a company rewarded for its practices.
