Built on a pioneering heritage, underpinned by well-defined positioning and backed by proven results, the programme is firmly established as a cornerstone of Axereal’s agricultural and environmental strategy.
Launched more than a decade ago, CultivUp Régénératif embodies a clear ambition: to produce sufficient quantities of high-quality food while protecting natural resources, particularly soils, the climate and biodiversity.
“CultivUp Régénératif reflects our conviction that economic performance and environmental performance can go hand in hand, for the benefit of future generations,” says David Gonin, farmer and President of Axereal.
An approach built over time, grounded in evidence
CultivUp Régénératif is not a new initiative, but the culmination of a gradual approach, enhanced by experience, data and feedback from farmers and downstream customers.
The programme is based on a measurable, verifiable approach, combining greenhouse gas emissions reductions, regenerative farming criteria, performance indicators and recognised certification schemes (SAI Platform, HVE2, Low-Carbon Label).
Today, 2,000 farmers are part of the programme, including several hundred committed to low-carbon initiatives, covering a significant area of farmland.
“Our role is to provide clear, evidence-based and measurable benchmarks to support their transition, while ensuring their efforts are recognised and rewarded,” explains Pierre Toussaint, Director of Agronomy, Transitions and Innovation at Axereal.
A well-defined framework supporting farmers
The CultivUp Régénératif framework brings together a range of tools and resources designed to support and facilitate the transition to regenerative farming. These include agronomic expertise, decision-support tools, data management, innovation projects and dedicated financial incentives.
It is built on practices designed to improve soil health, including increased soil cover, more diverse crop rotations, greater use of pulses, reduced tillage and optimised nutrient management.
These practices are supported by long-term field trials, including those at the Le Chaumoy experimental farm, where new approaches are tested and assessed over time.
