This project, now submitted for consultation with Ebly SAS’s employee representatives, would have no impact on employment and would enable Ebly SAS, its brand Ebly®, its factory in Châteaudun (France) and employees to be at the heart of Euricom’s growth strategy.

On January 22, 2026, Mars Food & Nutrition and Axéréal announced their intention to sell all shares held in their joint-venture Ebly SAS (including the Ebly® brand and the Châteaudun production site and its operations).
The announcement comes in response to a binding purchase offer received from Euricom, a European food manufacturer, which sees the Ebly® brand, the Châteaudun production site, its know how and its people, as a strategic priority for its future growth.
In addition to completing Euricom’s full product offering in rice, the acquisition would also enhance Euricom’s wheat-based portfolio. Ebly® pioneered and leads the pre-cooked wheat category and would complement Euricom’s existing offering of wheat-based products including dry pasta, wheat flour and semolina.
The proposed sale – which remains subject to the consultation of Ebly SAS’ works council – would be expected to close mid-April 2026 and would have no impact on employment at the site as part of the transition to Euricom.
Mars Food & Nutrition would continue selling Ebly® products to its existing customers and retail partners until, at least, the end of 2026. Both parties are committed to ensuring a smooth and respectful handover for all stakeholders.
Philippe Capaces, Managing Director at Ebly SAS, commented: “Over the past 25 years, Ebly® and the Châteaudun factory have been an integral part of Mars business, and we are proud of the high-quality brand and modern facility, we have built together with Axéréal. We believe this project would provide a secure and promising future for the Châteaudun factory, the Associates who work there and the Ebly® brand.”
Jean François Loiseau, Chairman of Axéréal, added “When we built the Ebly plant in 1995, our aim was to develop a new industrial outlet for the durum wheat grown by the farmers in the heart of Beauce. After more than 25 years of investment in the plant alongside our partner Mars, Ebly® now possesses unique expertise and a preeminent brand. We are convinced that Euricom has the expertise, resources and ambition needed to ensure the company’s continuity and development. Axéréal has chosen to refocus on its core agricultural business, and would remain committed to continuing the supply of durum wheat to the factory.”
Terms of the transaction are undisclosed.
No further information on the project will be provided until the information and consultation phase with employee representatives has been fully completed.
