All over France, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, ambulance personnel and emergency medical technicians are working daily on the front line of an unprecedented health crisis, often in difficult conditions. We at Axereal Group, represented by our farmer members and staff, were keen to play our part in the national initiatives to support them.
Tasty treats to boost morale in healthcare settings
Because this is a very tough time for the healthcare sector, we are working through our Axiane Meunerie subsidiary, with the support of artisan bakers, to deliver bread and pastries to Orléans Regional Hospital, Archette Clinic in Olivet, Jacques Cœur Hospital in Bourges, Guillaume de Varye Hospital in Saint-Doulchard, Chartres Hospital, Châteauroux Hospital and Nevers District Hospital. Each location receives one or more deliveries per week of goodies from a bakery, so that healthcare staff can take a few minutes out of their busy days to enjoy a break and a little boost.
Bag-in-Box packaging for makeshift plant’s hand sanitiser
In Paris, Delpech Pharmacy began making its own hand sanitiser to distribute to local healthcare professionals, the emergency services and care homes. They quickly ran out of space inside the pharmacy, and with the support of the local préfecture, decided to scale up by moving production out into the street. Via our Ax’Vigne subsidiary, we took on the task of providing some of the specific equipment this temporary factory needed, and also gave the pharmacy our stock of 19,300 bag-in-boxes to package the sanitiser for distribution to end users. In total, this temporary factory will produce almost 130,000 litres of hand sanitiser to help fight the spread of Covid-19
